
The Brooklyn Sci-Fi Film Festival Returns for another year!
It is a an In-Person/Online on October 3rd through 9th, 2022 at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in downtown Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival returns for its third season October 3rd through the 9th presenting over 150 independent SciFi films from around the world during a week-long festival.
This year’s festival will feature online and in-person events including an evening of curated screenings and awards on Saturday

It will include an evening of Japanese/Asian SciFi featuring selections from the Jimbocho Film Festival with in-person commentary. An animation panel with filmmakers working in traditional/stop-motion/ /digital/Unreal Engine/ techniques is planned for Thursday October 6th.
The BSFFF is committed to being a place for everyone. From its start, the team behind wanted to create an event that was open to anyone with the passion and determination to get their film made. “Unlike established festivals, which have acceptance rates that resemble the Ivy League, the Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival is a non-elitist home for indie filmmakers everywhere,” said Michael Brown, the co-founder and executive director of BSFFF.
Filmmakers will be recognized in the following categories:

- Best Live Action Short Film
- Best Animated Short Film
- Best Student Short Films
- Best Comedy Sci-Fi Short Film
- Best College Short Films – Awarded to filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 26,
- Best In Brooklyn
- Honorable Mentions – All Categories
